Saint Louis is home to one of the greenest buildings in the world:
the “Living Building” located near Eureka, built by Washington University.
A “Living Building” meets more rigorous standards than an
LEED building; the “Living Building” near Eureka, for example,
generates it’s own solar power and harvests it’s own rainwater.
Composting toilet technology has been perfected; we know,
because we tested it ourselves.
It poured down rain during our whole visit,
offering us the perfect chance to witness rainwater harvesting
in action!
Photos and Videos to be uploaded soon.
The Living Building by Wash U is a working Biology Lab
and not open to the general public.
